EBY THOMAS, Director (Executive), I-CAP Trust

Mr. Eby Thomas is a dynamic individual and co-founder of the Upajeevan Sangathan Foundation. He is currently the Managing Director IDFC Foundation and Director In-charge iDeCK. His multifaceted career reflects a profound dedication to uplifting the lives of the urban poor. Mr. Thomas’s notable roles include serving as the Director of ESAF Microfinance and Investments Limited, the holding company of ESAF Small Finance Bank. His involvement in the State Poverty Eradication Mission in Kerala, working alongside esteemed figures such as Shri. James Varghese IAS and Shri. T.K. Jose IAS, underscores his commitment to poverty alleviation. As the Publisher of Kudumbashree Magazine, he actively contributed to the documentation of projects and played a crucial role in the magazine’s publication for the initial three years. In his capacity as Managing Director of Dharana Infrastructure Projects Private Limited in New Delhi, Mr. Thomas focused on installing drinking water purification systems for communities and addressing critical infrastructure needs. Additionally, his role as a Member of the Governing Council at Social Economic Unit Foundation (SEUF) highlights his commitment to non-governmental work in the fields of water, environment sanitation, and livelihood, aligning with global initiatives by organisations such as the World Bank, UNICEF, ADB, and others.

DR. V. SATHYANARAYANA, PhD., Director (Non-Executive), I-CAP Trust

Dr. Sathyanarayana has done his Post Doctorate study in Economics from the Institute for Social and Economic Change, Bangalore and a Doctorate in Law from the prestigious National Law School of India University, Bangalore. He has worked for the Central Government and State Government for nearly 19 years and is familiar with public policy making, legislative business and regulatory frameworks. Later he worked with iDeCK for nearly 20 years in the legal, corporate and HR wings. He has extensive project experience in the urban sector, specially water and sanitation projects, sanitary landfills, commercial properties etc.  He has contributed to Policy and Regulatory matters in the transportation sector. He is familiar with bid process management in highway projects, airports, ports and rail infrastructure across India. Among Sathya’s major achievements are: being a Master Trainer in the National PPP Capacity Building Program; Key Resource Person at the Administrative Training Institute at Mysore, to train officers in the Government of Karnataka; At the IDFC Foundation, he has trained officers of Ministry of Finance, Government of Nigeria, the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission at Lagos, Government of India Ministries and State Government departments.
